Lisa Robin Kelly, who rose to fame as Laurie Forman on “That ’70s Show” died on Wednesday night. She was 43.

Ms. Kelly’s agent, Craig Wyckoff, said the actress had been dealing with addiction at the time of her death and had voluntarily checked into a California rehab facility on Monday.

“Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was battling the addiction problems that have plagued her these past few years. I spoke to her on Monday and she was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her. (Wednesday) night she lost the battle. Cause of death has not been issued yet and no death certificate has been issued either,” Wyckoff said.

Unlike some of her co-stars on the hit Fox show, which aired from 1998-2006, Kelly fell out of the spotlight after appearing on the sitcom until she started making headlines for personal troubles.

In August 2010, Kelly was arrested in North Carolina on a charge of driving under the influence.

On March 31, 2012, Kelly was arrested on a felony charge of corporal injury upon a spouse, and was released on $50,000 bail. The charge was based on a complaint filed by her ex-boyfriend, John Michas. She later made public statements saying that she was the one who had been assaulted, and denied Michas’ claim that she assaulted him. On May 12, 2012, TMZ reported that the LA County DA declined to file charges.

Ms. Kelly and her husband, Robert Joseph Gilliam, were arrested last November after police were called to their home in Mooresville, N.C., after reports of a domestic disturbance. Both were charged with assault and released on bond. The actress filed for divorce from Gilliam in July, less than a year after their October 2012 wedding, according to the gossip website TMZ.com.

On June 23, 2013, Kelly was arrested for a suspected DUI when law enforcement responded to a call about a parked car blocking a lane of traffic on the I-5 freeway and she failed a field sobriety test.

Her drinking problems began in 2003, after a miscarriage. The drinking eventually led to her departure from the series.

She told ABC News in 2012, “I had lost a baby. As a result of that, I lost everything and I was abusing alcohol.”
