Lindsay Lohan is free to leave rehab tomorrow, but TMZ reports that she will stay another 3 – 4 days because she feels she needs a transition period before re-entering the free world.  They say she’d like to stay in a “lower level, sober living house” which she believes will help her recovery.

Lilo  already has a full schedule when she finally does transition into the real world. Beyond all the previously announced publicity for The Canyons, she’s booked a gig filling in for Chelsea Handler on the comedienne’s popular talk show Chelsea Lately. Oprah Winfrey has planned an entire reality show which will star Lohan in her post-rehab life as she attempts to rebuild her career and stay healthy. The 8-part series will air sometime in 2014.

The full schedule is somewhat surprising given Lindsay’s history. It’s been years since she’s had a hit, and she’s been famously hard to work with. She’s been accused of stealing, accused of continually being late or no-showing engagements, and bad news tends to follow wherever she goes. Big-budget films need insurance in case an actress dies or becomes incapacitated and can’t go on with a role. Lohan’s misadventures made her uninsurable.

Hollywood is a place for second chances (or in Lindsay’s case, 4th 5th and 6th chances). Robert Downey, Jr. fought a five-year battle with substance abuse, alcohol, arrests, and rehab stints. At one point, he was considered unemployable. Now he’s one of the highest paid actors in the world. Britney Spears made headlines worldwide by shaving her head, taking an umbrella and punching it into a car window, and partying until all hours of the night. After an intense custody battle, run-ins with the law, and some time in rehab, Britney grew out of her erratic behavior. Fans have completely forgiven her for her outrageous behavior and she seems to be doing well.

It looks as if Hollywood is ready to give Lindsay Lohan yet another chance. Perhaps, this time, it will be worth the risk.
