What Are The Benefits of Meditation?

The benefits of meditation are endless and totally personal to you the person who is doing the meditation. There are different forms of meditation and everyone has their own unique style of finding their “quiet” place if you will. Meditation is a mental discipline by which one attempts to get beyond the conditioned, “thinking” mind into a deeper state of self-awareness or consciousness.

The benefits of meditation for me are mainly the very last one that I mentioned. Meditation gives me the benefit of seeing the world for what it really is instead of seeing it through my ego. My ego likes to tell me what is important and not important. When I can get past my ego and see the world through a deeper level of consciousness or through my spirit than I can see what really matters and really make my present day different. When I connect with the spirit in all things instead of connecting to what my ego tells me is important I can be a much healthier, happier, helpful, and peaceful human being.
