10 Problems of Anxious People

10 Problems of Anxious People

via wifflegif.com

Getting anxious and being anxious are similar yet different. People who are generally anxious tend to get uncomfortable more easily than others. Here are 10 problems of anxious people.

#1. Crowds

10 Problems of Anxious People

via wifflegif.com

Crowds are overwhelming, period. For anxious people, though, being in a crowd can make your heart race to the point that you’re positive it’s going to explode. Literally.

#2. Meeting new people

10 Problems of Anxious People

via wifflegif.com

You only have one chance to make a good impression on someone. And being an anxious person means that you worry what others might think about you. Once you start freaking out, you’re more likely to come off as either shy or weird. In either case, you’ve probably just proven the whole self-fulfilling prophecy thing. Meaning, you’ve worried so much about making a bad impression that you probably did just that.

#3. Speaking in front of people

10 Problems of Anxious People

via wifflegif.com

Public speaking is the number one fear among people, in general. The second biggest fear? Death. So that means most people would rather die than have to talk in front of others.

#4. Making plans

Just the thought of making plans will make an anxious person freak out. Never mind actually going out and doing said plans. The idea, alone, of planning something for later that day or week can be a daunting task. What if it falls through? What if my ideas are stupid? What if I don’t even feel like doing that when the time comes? Ugh…I’d rather just not do anything.

#5.Unexectedly running into someone you know

10 Problems of Anxious People

via wifflegif.com

Anxious people generally don’t like surprises, even good ones. So, when you cross paths with someone you weren’t expecting to see, even if it’s a friend you actually like, this encounter is enough to get the heart racing and palms sweating.

#6. Exams/performance reviews at work

10 Problems of Anxious People

via wifflgif.com

These sorts of situations are nerve-wracking to even generally non-anxious people. But for anxious people, taking an exam or having your annual review can feel like imminent death.

#7. Sending a text and not getting a response right away

10 Problems of Anxious People

via wifflegif.com

Why haven’t they replied yet? Do they hate me? Maybe I said/did something to upset them. Finally, you get a response and the world is OK again. After all, they probably aren’t glued to their phone 24/7 (like you are).

#8. Sending/receiving a friend request

10 Problems of Anxious People

via wifflegif.com

If you’re the sender, you’re worried they won’t accept your request. After all, who do you think you are? Requesting someone’s Facebook friendship…pffft. If you’re the sendee, you get anxious and wonder, “why is this person ‘friending’ me? Do they want something from me?”

#9. Dating

10 Problems of Anxious People

via wifflegif.com

OK, so dating is a little scary for most people, if not everyone. But, if you’re an anxious person, going on a date, even if it’s not the first one with this person can cause you to freak out. You might dread having to make witty conversation or something as simple as deciding what to order at the restaurant. What if you’re underdressed or worse, overdressed. There is nothing more awkward.

#10. Going out in public, in general

10 Problems of Anxious People

via wifflegif.com

Anxious people get nervous about being seen by others and seeing others (see #5). They also might feel nervous about the unexpected (which is scary to most). Going out in public means anything can happen. Sometimes, anxious people prefer the comfort and familiarity of their own home. And that’s OK. Listen up, anxious people, you are perfect the way you are. The things that you say make you anxious also make the rest of us anxious. It’s totally normal.

When you’re in rehab, all of your feelings are coming back and a lot of us have a strong urge to be near the opposite sex (or same sex, whatever floats your boat.) At this point in our lives we are so sick and for me, it’s actually funny to look back on my rehab crush and remember how I felt about it. I’ve made a list of 10 pick-up lines you only hear in rehab.

10 Pick-Up Lines You Only Hear in Rehab…

1. I bet you would have been so much fun to get high with! (Basically saying they think you’re fun to be around and enjoy your company)

2. You’re too pretty to be in rehab. (I can’t even with this one…)

5. You’re so hot; I bet you looked good even when you were getting high. (I swear I wasn’t looking too hot when I was strung out on heroin)

6. I’ve never opened up to anyone like this before; I think I might love you. (That’s because you were on drugs or drunk, and no you don’t)

7. I don’t need treatment, all I need is you. (Pretty much the definition of co-dependency right here)

8. You could be my new drug of choice (DOC). (Super corny, and nope)

9. We’re like Romeo and Juliet – they’ve banned us from seeing each other but they can’t keep us apart. (This just makes me laugh)

10. Let’s sit together at the meeting. (The equivalent of a date when you’re in rehab)

I totally understand the whole rehab romance thing; once our drugs and alcohol are taken away its quite normal to seek a solution in something or someone else. It’s also very common because most of us don’t want to actually stop and take a look at ourselves and our issues so it’s easier to focus all of our attention on someone else. Each person and situation is different but it really is best to wait until you have some sober time and have went through your steps and love yourself again before you start dating.

If you don’t love yourself, you have absolutely nothing to give in a relationship. That is something I learned early on in my recovery. It can be so amazing getting to know yourself when you get sober and just learning to love yourself each day. We were so hard on ourselves when we were getting high and drunk that we don’t realize how much work we need to do on ourselves alone. My recommendation for anyone who is in or thinking about getting in a rehab romance is not to; I know it’s difficult to see now but if the relationship is really going to go anywhere – it can wait until you’ve done some work on yourself. In the News: Justin Bieber's DUI Video Released, Seems to Stumble

Miami prosecutors released 10 hours of video Wednesday, part of which demonstrate Justin Bieber stumbling through a sobriety test. It’s one video that Justin Bieber hopes doesn’t become a viral hit. According to the Associated Press, prosecutors released a video taken at a Miami Beach police station that shows Bieber stumbling his way through a sobriety test after his January 23rd arrest on DUI and drag racing charges.

In the surveillance video taken at the Miami Beach police station, Justin Bieber is seen arguing with a police officer. 19-year-old Bieber faces misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, DUI and driving with a non-valid license after he was pulled over in his rented Lamborghini. A drug test found traces of marijuana, the antidepressant Xanax and amounts of alcohol below the legal limit.

Bieber has pleaded not guilty. 10 hours of video was released on Wednesday to the AP, with just a small amount of it involving the Canadian artist. In the video it clearly shows the singer off-balance and swaying as he tries to turn and change direction. The video also allegedly seems to show Bieber in the middle of an active, finger-pointing match with an arresting officer, appearing to highlight the police report’s account of Bieber as uncooperative.

In a fractional victory, Bieber’s legal team effectively petitioned the judge to block the release of numerous parts of the video that showed the “Boyfriend” singer’s private parts. Among the redacted scenes was video of Bieber urinating for a drug test.

In my opinion, I think Justin Bieber should definitely suffer the consequences of being under the influence and driving but I think that the video showing his private parts shouldn’t have even been in question to be seen by the world. I’m not sure if Bieber is an addict or alcoholic or not  but if he is, I can only imagine the way the world is handling his issues not supporting him in wanting to get sober. Everyone is being very harsh on him and his actions and I think that people need to realize that maybe he just needs some help and guidance.

People are so cruel now-a-days that it can make it impossible for someone to want to be open about their addiction and problems and cause people to not seek help. I admire the stars that are open about their issues and show what their lives have become from being in recovery from drugs and alcohol. It would probably be a good thing if Bieber was sent to drug and alcohol treatment for his actions. Whether he is an addict or not, it could definitely help him to see the consequences of his behaviors. And if he is an addict, it can help him to find a solution to his problems. Bieber would have a long and big career ahead of him if he just got his act together. I hope the judge gives him a consequence that helps him work on himself. In the News: Study Claims to Find First Ever Cannabis Caused Deaths

In the News: Study Claims to Find First Ever Cannabis Caused Deaths

BERLIN – A German study reported that the deaths of two men with underlying health conditions were likely caused by complications resulting from their marijuana use.

The cases involved two men who died unexpectedly after smoking marijuana. Each was young and outwardly healthy: a 23-year-old and a 28-year-old.

The study’s researchers, based at the hospitals of Duesseldorf University and Frankfurt University, said these were isolated cases but suggested people who might have serious heart problems should be made aware of the risk of marijuana use. “To our knowledge, these are the first cases of suspected fatal cannabis intoxications,” wrote the researchers.

These findings, which were published online this month in Forensic Science International, are the first of their kind because cannabis use isn’t known to cause serious health problems, and especially not death.

Autopsy Reports

This is more likely a case of sensationalized news. Although marijuana use might have been a precipitating factor in each death, it’s important to note that, in each case, there were other, perhaps overriding factors that led to death. In the case of the 23-year-old, the autopsy found that he had a serious undetected heart problem. And as for the 28-year-old, it’s noted that he had a history of alcohol, amphetamine and cocaine abuse.

In each case, the man had an underlying condition that, when combined with cannabis use – which is known to affect heart rate and/or blood pressure, especially when lying down, may have caused each of the men’s heart rhythms to be affected in such a way as to lead to death.

German Study

One of the study’s authors, a Dr. Benno Hartung, said the two cases of fatality were among 15 deaths reviewed between 2011 and 2012 by scientists. The 13 remaining cases were found to have other factors that were more likely to blame for the resulting death.

In an email to The Associated Press on Wednesday, Hartung said “We assume that these are very rare, isolated cases,” noting that it was difficult to draw any other conclusions about the number of possible cannabis-related deaths.

What the researchers concluded was this: that, while cannabis isn’t particularly toxic and its effects are short lived, people who are at high risk for cardiovascular diseases should avoid the drug.

Dr. David Nutt, chairman of Britain’s Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs, is known for his studies on the harmfulness of drugs – having created a risk/harm scale with which to rate each known drug. He was not part of the study but weighed in on it, saying that the researchers had presented an “exceptionally complete collection of evidence in support of their theory that, unusually, cannabis was the trigger for these two tragedies.” He added that “people with vulnerable hearts should be informed of this risk with cannabis.”

Nutt compared cannabis-related risk to other factors, saying that any additional strain to the heart, such as strenuous activity, can also have fatal consequences in people with an underlying heart condition.
